This artwork is a high resolution photo of an original acrylic painting called “Go your own way”.

The original painting is red, yellow and turquoise. This orange, blue and pink colour palette was created by working with the colours digitally.

This painting wants to spread its confidence far and wide and makes for a perfect addition to an already colourful home or maybe as that splash of colour in a more minimalist home. Perfect as a gift for someone you love.

Everybody says ”go your own way” but what does it actually mean?
When we’re young we think it means doing the opposite to what the adults say. But is it always the opposite of someone else’s way or can your way sometimes be parallel to others’?
Is your own way always lonely or can you let others join you?
How do you know when you are going your own way and not a way you subconsciously have tricked yourself into wanting to go?
What does it mean to go someone else’s way?
Isn’t YOUR way the only way you CAN take?
Is “your way” pre-planned by your soul and now it’s your job to find it? Can you ever find it?
Or is it something you make up along the way?

These are some questions I’ve asked myself and that you can ask yourself. Because no one can tell you what your path is, but you.

Going my own way has been a recurring theme in my life and I’ve learnt that it often comes with unlearning a lot of old habits and beliefs. It can sometimes be a chaotic mix between ”don’t tell me what to do” and people pleasing. But isn’t that a part of the way? It might be a beautiful ziggzaggy path that you don’t always see very clearly. You go in one direction until you realise that wasn’t where you wanted to go and then you pivot.

A part of finding your way is to find your own guiding system. To remember what it feels like when you are “on the right path”. Or maybe to remember to listen. Listen to that inner ding that whispers “yes, go this way!”.
What does that inner voice sound and feel like to you?
